Afterglow was inspired by the piles of garden debris I created every morning last summer as I wandered around my garden, pulling weeds, removing spent flowers and foliage, and trimming back plants. The debris seemed beautiful to me, redolent of nature and earth. It was a balm after the lockdowns and chaos of the previous years. Making the paintings was a way for me to move on.
